California’s Largest Construction Project Flourishes with Laserfiche and Adjamian Affiliated Inc.
DPR Construction is currently working on Palomar Medical Center West, the largest construction project in the state of California. The construction company uses Laserfiche to keep track of daily reports, contracts, bid documents, insurance information, and other key data for the 900+ people on the site.
Escondido, CA — October 4, 2011 – Palomar Medical Center West is slated to be one of the largest hospitals in the United States. Set to open in spring 2012, the hospital is going green in as many ways as possible, including using sustainable design principles and having a vegetable garden on the roof. DPR Construction, the company in charge of construction management, also keeps things green with the help of Laserfiche and Adjamian Affiliated Inc.
The company implemented Laserfiche about a year ago. Field Office Coordinator Sharon Salum said the transition to Laserfiche was seamless, thanks to its intuitive interface.
“It’s so simple. We use Adobe, we use Excel and other Microsoft Office software. Laserfiche fits right in with everything. You can do all the things you can do with Windows, so it wasn’t anything that was foreign to us,” Salum said.
Teresa Morrow, another field office coordinator, described Adjamian Affiliated’s training and implementation for Laserfiche as “excellent.” Salum agreed.
“They sat right with us and walked us through every step,” Salum said. “It was very hands-on. The person training us said he’d keep it simple, and it was.”
Though the hospital is slated to open in early 2012, both Morrow and Salum said paperwork on their end will continue for several months afterward. They plan to use Laserfiche to organize the final documents they’ll present and turn over to the owners of the hospital.
Before Laserfiche, DPR Construction used a shared drive to manage documents. However, with more than 500 gigabytes of data representing 2+ years of work, they needed a more robust system for document management. In the future, Morrow said that in the future she’d like to have Laserfiche from start to finish on projects.
“I’d definitely keep using it,” Morrow said. “I’d like to use it right from the beginning.”
