Adjamian Affiliated Inc. Helps Zivetz, Schwartz & Saltsman Increase Productivity, Reduce Paper with Laserfiche
Michael Saltsman said the CPA firm where he works as a partner has benefited greatly from implementing Laserfiche with Adjamian Affiliated.
Los Angeles, CA — August 11, 2011 – Overflowing file rooms and towering stacks of paper are a common work hazard for accountants. Five years ago, Zivetz, Schwartz & Saltsman CPAs decided to upgrade to a paperless filing system that would decrease the amount of paper in their office and at offsite storage locations.
“We try to stay up with the latest technology. We’d been looking at systems over the five previous years, but nothing seemed right,” said partner Michael Saltsman. “Allen (Adjamian) finally convinced us that this was the right one for us.”
The CPA firm has 12 employees, all of whom use Laserfiche. Before, they had to hunt through a crowded file room and hope the document they were looking for was filed correctly and not on someone else’s desk.
“We used to have to send somebody to the file room looking for a misplaced file. We spent a lot of time unproductively,” Saltsman said. “Now we do a lot less searching for files.”
With Laserfiche, every employee has instant access to all of their files right from their desks. They’ve also been able to avoid growing their offsite storage. Saltsman said they haven’t sent anything to offsite storage since implementing Laserfiche. The company opted not to scan documents older than three years; instead, they leave them in offsite storage and shred them after the seven-year mandatory retention period is up. The firm has been able to realize cost savings from both decreasing offsite storage and not having to send for files to be shipped back and forth. Saltsman estimated that they’re saving at least $300 per month just on storage space.
What was once an imposing file room is now mostly empty. Once they remove the nailed-down file cabinets, the firm plans to repurpose the space. Saltsman said he’s hoping for a ping-pong table.
Overall, Saltsman said the firm has been impressed with the service of Adjamian Affiliated Inc. He rated the convenience factor a “10 out of 10,” and said the company’s IT support was fast, effective and helpful.
“I work early in the morning,” Saltsman said. “I can send (Adjamian Affiliated support) an email at 6 a.m. and it seems like by 6:15 a.m. I’m up and working again.”
